Great versatility
The schmidt-cassegrain range offers the advantage of having large diameters in a small size. Although their length is reduced by their technology, they have a large focal length and an F/D ratio of 10.
So you will find 200mm of focal length for this instrument which measures only barely 550mm long. Thus, it is extremely portable.
The optical quality from Celestron is no longer to be proven. The polishing of the primary and secondary mirrors is strictly monitored as well as the homogeneity of the glass of the closing blade.
Fastar-compatible
The new generations of Celestron tubes are called "Fastar", that is to say that the secondary mirror is removable and can therefore be removed.
What interest ?
Well, there is a system called the Hyperstar manufactured by the Starizona company which has developed a block of lenses which replaces the secondary mirror. Thus, you can install your camera on it and see your telescope reduce its focal length from 2000 to 400mm!! Yes! Your telescope will become a Schmidt chamber open at F/2.
Ideal for deep sky!
A do-it-all telescope
The Schmidt-Cassegrain from Celestron are all-purpose telescopes.
- Perfect for planetary thanks to their long focal length coupled with a barlow (optional)
- Very pleasant in visual because large diameter and very transportable
- 3 deep sky focal length options with a single tube (Hyperstar at 400mm, 1260mm with optional 6.3 reducer, 2000mm stock)
